The 2010 course has been turned around to traverse the Birkie Trail from south to north. The marathon run and marathon relay will now start at Hatchery Park, while the half marathon run and half marathon Birkie Trek will begin at the County Road OO trailhead in Seeley. All events will finish on the grounds of Telemark Resort. The 5K run-walk will start and finish there.
Even if the doors of Telemark Lodge are closed at the time of the event, the finish area will be set up in its immediate vicinity.
Individual marathon and half marathon finishers will receive medals at the finish line. First- and second-place finishers in each age group will receive mugs and a technical T-shirts. The overall male and female winners of the marathon, half marathon and 5K will receive a pair of Salomon trail running shoes and a technical T-shirt.
Each participant of the Birkie Trail Run events will receive a technical T-shirt when picking up their race packets. At the finish line, all registrants will be treated to pork sandwiches, baked beans, coleslaw and potato salad provided by the Brick House Cafe of Cable. Marketplace Foods of Hayward will provide beverages to event finishers, and beer may be purchased with proceeds benefiting a local community group. Nonregistrants may purchase a meal ticket for $10 that will include the meal and a nonalcoholic beverage.
All athletes and spectators will enjoy live music at the finish line provided by the Namekagon String Band.
